There she and Flip worked to raise pears and cherries and their three children on one of the original family farms.  She worked in behavioral research with Oregon Research Institute and with Hood River County as a prevention specialist and systems coordinator for twenty five years. She is presently a prevention trainer with the State of Oregon, working with drug prevention grants administered by federal agencies  She is a columnist for the Hood River News, works on the family farm and serves on multiple agency and non profit boards.
